you look great today

a photo i took for youlookgreattoday.com . the hand is not mine - it is the paper hand seen below! its actual size is that of a business card.

crazies

one of these I have posted before, but I figured I would repost it with its fellow crazy heads. these i'm mostly doing for my own enjoyment - i start them all the same. I've been taking extra paint I have left over and simply putting it onto one canvas haphazardly. Eventually, after there is enough random paint on a page - i'll find a face in it and paint it on. there is something very therapeutic about making these.

sexy temporary tattoos designed after the king, queen, and jack characters.

here's one more acrylic portrait and a cover for a mix CD I made for Allan Comport - which is mixed media (acrylic, ink, and pencil). these were both quick but really enjoyable to make. i can feel i am making slow but steady progress with figuring out how I want to use acrylic paints.

two acrylic portraits

so, whenever i've recently had extra paint on my palette that i was going to throw out - i decided to use it up in my sketchbook, painting some abstract shapes that could be used for portraits. then after it dried, i drew over it with black pen - and this is what resulted! i really enjoyed this process.

shapes

an alternate illustration for the third part of my mom's poem "Weeping Beech Park.

these three tattoos are based on the king, queen, and jack characters from your traditional deck of playing cards.....except they are inspired by mexican wrestler costumes. i just bought some tattoo printer paper....so soon i'll post pictures of my roomates and myself wearing these very tattoos!!!!!!!!?!?!?
